Challenge
In the beginning, the company mainly provided services to company picnics, school festivals, and church functions. Since then, Burgess has expanded their market to include all aspects of the entertainment industry, such as: theme parties, casino’s, team building, hospitality suites, trade shows, product launches, grand openings, and more. In 1998, the company began expanding their inventory at an accelerated rate, launching a new Virtual Reality/Video Game Division, allowing Burgess to offer their customers a wider range of entertainment ideas. Again seeing a demand from its clients, in 2003, the company began expanding it's Carnival Rides Division, which now includes large carnival rides such as Ferris Wheels, Turbo Swings, and Rapid Slides. The company has grown to a multi-million dollar inventory.
The challenge was to create a site where the client (Burgess Amusements) could make updates to their expansive database on a daily basis without having to hire a third party or a Web Master to assist with the changes.
Solution
ASP driven web site that uses a back-end administration web site to seamlessly present customers with up to date equipment availabe for rental.
Result
Dynamically driven web site redesigned to include administrative panel for real time updates enabling the company to keep an extremely accurate count of available rental inventory on a day-to-day basis. This site also offers video demos of the available equipment.
